Woohoo! Coupon Fight!

If you have been watching the interwebs in the coupon world the last 2 days you would see the fight unfolding over the article about NOT couponing.

This article cites 8 reasons why they say you should NOT use coupons. From my perspective, most of these are for people who have a lot of money and a minimal amount of time. Couponing does take some time, but it can save you a considerable amount.

This is one of the most enjoyable rebuttals. Basically a pblllt in the face of the former article's writer.

What do you think? Is it worth it?

  1. I haven't even read the articles yet but I can say that when I was working full time, it wasn't worth it to me. I loved the idea of saving money but I had enough disposable income where it wasn't a HUGE issue for us AND I most definitely did NOT have the time.

Now that I'm out of work and broke, it is DEFINITELY worth it. I haven't even come CLOSE to mastering the art of couponing and I've already seen some decent savings. It IS very time consuming though. I know the time output will go down as I get better at the coupon game, but it will still take more time than just heading out to the store and buying whatever I wanted did.

I think it all boils down to how much money you have AND how much your time is worth.

  2. Living out here, we're better off just seeing when the local sales are or driving a little distance and buying stuff all at once. We can save more by hitting the costco or something like that and stocking up.
